Virtual Number for Discord Phone Verification
You can create a Discord account with only an email address. Phone verification shows up later: servers set to the highest verification level require members to have a verified phone, and Discord may lock an account and ask for a phone when it detects unusual activity. Discord sends a 6-digit code by SMS and rejects many VoIP numbers outright. Noir SMS rents you a carrier mobile number for 20 minutes, shows the code in your dashboard, and refunds you automatically if Discord never sends it. A phone number can only be attached to one Discord account at a time.

Quick answer
Yes. Discord signs you up with email, but it may require a verified phone to join some servers or to unlock an account it flagged. Rent a US, Canada or UK number on Noir SMS, add it under User Settings > My Account, and enter the code from your dashboard. Discord blocks many VoIP numbers; ours are mobile, and an undelivered SMS is refunded.

How to get your Discord code
Add the phone in Discord
Open User Settings > My Account and click Add next to Phone Number, or use the verify prompt on a server or locked account. Choose the country, enter the number and solve the captcha if shown.
Confirm with the code
Enter the 6-digit code from your Noir SMS dashboard. Discord may ask for your password to finish linking the phone.
Before you verify Discord
VoIP numbers get rejected
Discord commonly refuses Google Voice, TextNow and similar VoIP numbers with an invalid number error. Noir SMS numbers are mobile, so they usually pass, but if Discord still refuses one, cancel for a refund and try another.
Don't use the rental for SMS 2FA backup
Discord lets you add SMS as a backup for two-factor authentication, but a rented number won't be yours later. Use an authenticator app and save your backup codes instead.
Removing the phone has side effects
Servers that require a verified phone check your account's phone status, so removing the number can block you from them again. If you want to swap it for your own number later, add the new one in My Account rather than leaving the field empty.

Discord virtual number: FAQ
Why is Discord asking me to verify my phone number?
Either a server set its verification level to require a verified phone, or Discord's systems flagged unusual activity, such as a new account joining many servers quickly or a login from a new location. In both cases, adding a phone that can receive Discord's SMS code removes the block, as long as the account isn't disabled.
Does Discord accept virtual numbers?
Discord rejects many VoIP numbers but generally accepts mobile numbers. Noir SMS numbers come from mobile carriers, so they usually work for Discord verification. Acceptance isn't guaranteed: if Discord says the number is invalid or no SMS arrives within 20 minutes, the charge is refunded to your balance automatically.
Can I use the same phone number on two Discord accounts?
No. Discord allows a phone number on only one account at a time, and Noir SMS numbers are single-use for one verification anyway. Creating extra accounts to evade a server ban or a Discord ban breaks Discord's terms and Noir SMS's acceptable use policy, so verify only accounts you actually own and use.
My Discord account was disabled. Will a new number help?
No. Phone verification unlocks accounts that Discord simply wants to confirm, not accounts it disabled for breaking its rules. For a disabled account, use Discord's appeal process through its support site. Noir SMS numbers may not be used to create new accounts to get around a ban.
Can I log in to Discord with my phone number?
Yes. Discord accepts a verified phone number as a login identifier along with your password. With a rented number, log in with your email instead, since the number won't stay yours. Keep your email address current so password resets always reach you.
