Rent a number for Uber
Choose Uber in the Noir SMS dashboard and pick a US, Canada or UK number. It's reserved for 20 minutes.
Uber asks for a mobile number when you create a rider account and sends a four-digit code to confirm it. That number then becomes part of how you use Uber: drivers and couriers can call or text you through Uber's anonymized system during a trip or Uber Eats order, and Uber may text codes when you sign in on a new device. Noir SMS can handle the initial verification text with a carrier mobile number reserved for 20 minutes. Because the number is temporary and SMS-only, it only makes sense if you'll switch to your own number before you rely on rides.
Yes, a Noir SMS number can receive Uber's sign-up verification code: rent a US, UK or Canada number for Uber, enter it in the app, and copy the code from your dashboard, with an automatic refund if no SMS arrives in 20 minutes. But Uber uses your number for driver calls and support, and our numbers can't receive calls, so it's a poor fit for an everyday rider account.
One number, one Uber verification. Pay only for what you use.

Open Uber, start creating a rider account, enter the number with +1 or +44, and Uber sends a four-digit code.
Copy the code from your dashboard into Uber. Before taking regular trips, change the phone number in your account to one that can receive calls.
During a pickup, your driver may call you through Uber's masked line, for instance if they can't find you. A Noir SMS number can't receive calls and is recycled after verification, so missed contact could mean a cancelled trip or a fee.
Uber may text a code when you log in on a new phone or when something looks unusual. Once a rented number is gone, those codes won't reach you, so add your own number and keep your email current.
Driver and courier sign-up involves identity documents and background checks, and those must use your real details and your own phone. Never use a virtual number for payment, identity checks, or to get around an Uber account deactivation.
You can verify an Uber rider account with a Noir SMS number, since it's a carrier mobile number that can receive Uber's SMS code. For actually riding, though, Uber expects a number where drivers and support can reach you by phone. Our numbers are SMS-only and temporary, so switch to your own number afterward.
Uber uses your number to verify your account, send sign-in codes, and let drivers or couriers contact you during a trip or delivery through a masked number. It's also used for safety features and support. That's why a long-term, callable number matters more on Uber than on most apps.
Uber Eats uses the same Uber account, so the verification is the same SMS code. The same caveat applies: couriers may need to call you about your delivery, and a Noir SMS number can't take calls. If you only need to receive the code, it works; for regular orders, use your own number.
Wait a minute, then use the app's option to resend the code; you can request another SMS while your Noir SMS number is active. If nothing arrives within the 20-minute window, the rental is refunded to your balance automatically. You can also cancel manually two minutes after purchase for an instant refund.
We don't recommend it and it isn't an acceptable use. Driver and delivery partner onboarding includes identity verification and background checks, and Uber uses your number for ongoing trip communication. Using a virtual number for identity checks or to return after deactivation violates Uber's terms and our policy.
